Very cool applet--thanks. Too bad you can't can't mess with resonance on the
lowpass filters, since that's the more typical synth usage. ("Reson w/ Zeros"
is a bandpass filter, which I didn't happen to put in my biquad calculator on
the first pass--meant to go back and add it...)

Great explanation, Ross.
Q would seem to semantically fit better than resonance, with notch filters or
allpass filters? For example a high-Q notch filter would have a very narrow
notch, but I think a true notch filter would theoretically have an infinitely
deep notch exactly at Fc. Only theoret
Good answer from Ross--also, if you want to look at it graphically, you can see
what it looks like on a biquad here:

Set Plot to "log" (so you can see it in the more typical "dB per octave" view),
and set Q to 10, for instance. That give

kinda neat applet! Playing around with the resonating filters i can
see more of what you were talking about and see how they work.

Hi,
Just a reminder that if you are new to the list you should read the
music-dsp FAQ. It contains answers to both technical _and_
adminstrative questions that often come up on the list. If your question
appears in the FAQ it is safe to assume that it has been discussed on the
list many times in t

Does anyone know what resonance is in that context or how it's
implemented?
I was reading some online and it seems like it might be some kind of
feedback but I'm not really sure...
