Before we can talk about how to format sort names, it seem like we
should agree on a target algorithm. Knowing what is most
Conclusion: I guess Android apps ask some common Android routine to do the
sorting, while each Windows app had to find it's own way to implement it.

parts would probably help in creating a sort which adapts to different
cultural rules.

then Master, while
jacobbrett sets the master first. In other words, what jacobbrett calls
master is not what is called generally a master in the music industry.

a new AR,
if the sound engineer was simply inherited from the original master.
I understand the word Master is not correct. It is about as misleading as
Recording or Work. In the real world, a master is something pretty specific
(probably more so than a work ;-) )

I think this is best solvable with better metadata and player
interfaces.
Much of this is solvable with current metadata and player interfaces -
just make the MB

I think this is best
as the keywords in
photos. This would allow any given music file to appear under any of the
keywords which it would have without having to physically duplicate the
file itself. Of course, again, such a system would more useful if music
players use this feature.

I think it is not correct to refer to such a release as a compilation,
despite the publisher marketing it as such.
What about compilations with a previously unreleased track?

Not so if you realize that the MB Recording is actually close to what

that this is not an issue.
@symphonick, I don't understand what you don't understand. Do you want an
example of a performer-based release? Or do you disagree with the proposal
and think that this kind of release should still have the composer as Track
Artist? Or something else?

(I don't mean movements,
although it could happen) can have more than one cadenza. So that for
example the first cadenza would be in the first movement and the second
cadenza would be in the third movement. I don't think this is worth the
confusion it brings in the notation, though.
