Comment (by sithglan):

 Hello Tamo,
Trust On First Use (TOFU) in mutt looks something like that: When a gpg or
smime signed email is opened the first time with a new keyid or email
address, mutt asks you what you want to do about it: You can trust it or
not. This makes it easy to trust certain gpg or smime keys in mutt. If
later on an email shows up with a different key for the same user id, mutt
warns you about this fact. Also tofu can show you some statistics like:
How often and what frequency you got signed mails from a certain party.

 Cheers,
 Thomas

GnuPG developers will provide some documentation and a patch?
Then "we" can wait for them. ;)

As you asked in this message,
we don't know what "TOFU in mutt" would be, anyway.

 Hello,
today gpgme 1.7.0 was released which support Trust On First Use (TOFU). We
 should implement this in mutt.

 https://www.gnupg.org/blog/20151103-gnupg-in-october.html#sec-1-5

Also Andre from the gnupg team is working on implementing the same in
 kmail.

 Cheers,
  Thomas
