ACS thread characters

I've been using Debian 5.0.2's mutt package, but because of a bug with saving certificates I decided to compile the latest 1.5.20 code that reportedly fixes this issue. It does, but now I have garbled ACS threading characters which I cannot resolve. For example: 12 r b 2009.07.28 16:03:25 Lisa
