I had this problem (or something similar), and I used hooks to fix
never thought about using links or links -g to view html
attachments.So I tried:
text/html; links -g %s
and it came up toggled to text mode but:
text/html; links -g -force-html %s
toggled it to html. Neat !! Another victory in the battle of
bloat.

fetchmail log into a sslkey statement in .fetcmailrc
Since then I have upgraded to Fetchmail-6.3.13 and start TLS and
upgrade to TLS succeeded appear in my logs without any ssl statements
in .fetchmailrc .
