Is is possible to put the current mail entry at the top of my screen in
mutt? Looking for something like z command in VIM.
This essentially requires mutt to redraw, cursor line to the top of the
window.

.
Is there any particular reason why this wouldn't work?
The desktop is automatically backed up. Laptop will not have that
facility. This also requires that I configure laptop to get mail from
various sources that my desktop is already configured!

at programs that would synchronize two maildirs. Looked at isync
(mbsync) but that seems to need an IMAP (am I right?). Any other
programs that can work for me. If not, I may end up writing my own!
TIA,
Malahal.
read and delete an email from my laptop, I would like it to be
deleted at the desktop too. For that, I need to run rsync otherway but
that could delete the new mail arrived at the desktop.

That would involve lot of editing if there are lots of names in the
list. I can use my editor tricks to reduce the amount of editing, but I
am looking for a mutt feature that can help me create such an alias
easily!

reply) but would like to modify the subject and make sure
this email goes without any in-reply-to header. Is this possible in
mutt?
Thanks, Malahal.
but I don't have edit_headers option set. Fortunately, I can
use 'E' to edit headers after composing the body of the message and
scrap the In-Reply-To field.
Thank you for the tip!

Looks like there is something storing a record of all the mails I
receive in a file/folder called 'from'. It just records the time,
subject and the mbox name it goes to.
Could it be procmail doing it? Or just the mutt itself is doing it?
--Malahal.
Hmmm, looks like it is procmail's logfile!!!

Could it be procmail
but I
don't want those.
I am now using this '~f malahal !(~s Re:)', but looking for a better
one.
The search pattern ~P will match the messages from you.
But that includes all the messages from me including a reply to someone
else's original post. I want to get all the threads initiated by me
to someone else's email but I
don't want those.
just guessing, but, wouldn't it be possible to search for emails that
don't contain the In-Reply-To header?
I was hoping someone would point something like this.
~P !~h In-Reply-To works for me.

Hi, I get mails from mailing lists and I respond to mails from others.
Is there a way I can 'limit' messages initiated by me? I know how to get
all messages from me that include replies to someone else's email but I
don't want those.

Is it possible to send stdin as an mbox to mutt?
Thanks, Malahal.
I think I could interrupt mutt some times but I can't when it is
downloading messages from an news server. Is there a way I can stop it
other than killing and restarting it?
Thanks, Malahal.
I would like to search for mails from a specific author but would like
to include all related threads (the responses may be from different
authors). Is this possible?
the server. What am I doing wrong? I would like it
to cache the headers and remember what I read.
Thank you for your time.
Thanks, Malahal.
PS: Also set newsrc = ~/.newsrc
Looks like I need to subscribe to a list (just mutt notion of it) before
it can cache them. Makes sense!
Thanks, Malahal.
