Apple Mail has concealed attachments from me for the last time I hope! I noted a while ago that Apple Mail puts attachments inside the HTML half of the multipart/alternative container instead of outside in an outer multipart/mixed. If you've set up to prefer the plain text half mutt doesn't show you the attachment.
