Hi Kurt!

I'm so sorry for don't had been do a complete explanation about that.
Sorry!

Here [1] is a configuration that could bee explanation how to use LBDB
with mutt and msmtp.

In this mean time, I migrate to abook and all work nice, now.

I use abook in this way:

set query_command = "abook --mutt-query '%s'"
set display_filter = "pee 'abook --add-email-quiet' 'cat -'" # all
opened messages have senders address added to abook database.

I uninstalled lbdb from my machine.

Thanks!

No. Isn't msmtp problems.

> This is only changes I do to get all works very well!

I did more tests and found:

If I send a message using

tee >(lbdb-fetchaddr -a)|/usr/bin/msmtp -a gmail $@

the attached file with embedded image got corrupted

The same result is got with

tee >(lbdb-fetchaddr -a -c utf8)

If I send a message using

/usr/bin/msmtp -a gmail $@

the attached file with embedded image got loaded correctly.

Have you some clue, here?

Thank you so much!

After more tests, I found that if I use the mutt native smtp, attach is
properly transmitted. I could open it very well!

So, I think there is a problem with msmtp or its configuration.

MSMTP config (msmtprc)

defaults
tls_trust_file /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt
logfile ~/.msmtp.log

account gmail
auth oauthbearer
host smtp.gmail.com
port 587
protocol smtp
tls on
from mylo...@gmail.com
user mylo...@gmail.com
passwordeval /path/to/scripts/OAuth2/get_teteraorg_token_gmail.sh

MUTT native smtp relevant config (muttrc)

set
smtp_oauth_refresh_command="/path/to/scripts/OAuth2/get_teteraorg_token_gmail.sh"
set smtp_authenticators="oauthbearer"
set smtp_url = "smtp://mylo...@gmail.com@smtp.gmail.com:587/"
set from = "mylo...@gmail.com"
set use_from = yes
set realname = "My Real Name"

Patrick Shanahan tell me that all three files was opened properly in
their openSuse Box.

He sent me all three files attached and all of then was properly opened
in my Debian Box.

I forwarded Patrick's message to he self. All three files was attached
to that message automatically.

Patrick report me that only two files arrived to his mail box: the pdf
(attached) is corrupt. the docx (w/o image) was fine. The docx with
image/figure was not transmitted to Patrick.

Well, this is another problem I'm had having: when I sent more than one
attachment, only the ones that "pass" are sent. When I forward to
Patrick, I thought that only one, that one without image, would be sent.
To my surprise, the pdf was too. I do not know what is happening.

However, I don't have ideia how figure out that problem! Have you some
idea?

Thank you!

2. If images are remove from files, they are transferred by mutt intact.

I was wrong!

Yesterday, when I sent the message through the Yahoo server, mutt saved
it in the outbox, before sending it. For that reason, I thought the
Yahoo upload was ok. However, this morning, I found that the message had
not been sent. It was jammed in the msmtpq queue (msmtp.queue). When I
sent the message earlier, the file got corrupted. So, it doesn't be
relevant if you send by Yahoo or GMail: the file is corrupted in anyway.
I'm sorry for being wrong.

Problem persist!

Have you using GMail? If so, could you do a test for me?

I use muttprint like this:

Firstly, install muttprint (apt install muttprint does the trick if
you use Debian based distro)

So, insert this line in your muttrc

set print_command = 'set -e; f=`mktemp /tmp/"$(date
+%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-%S)-"XX.ps`; muttprint -P A4 -p TO_FILE:"$f";
ps2pdf $f $f.pdf ; rm $f ; evince "$f.pdf"

If you want, chance evince to any pdf reader you like.

Thank you so much! It save my day. With your post, I could found more

Offlineimap is run out of the box with OAuth2! A beautiful!

But, msmtp is so hard to configure!

I set up the system's keyring like this:

secret-tool store --label=msmtp-oauth2 client-id client-id

I copy and paste the "OAuth client ID" in the password prompt above.

secret-tool store --label=msmtp-oauth2 client-secret client-secret

secret-tool store --label=msmtp-oauth2 refresh refresh

I copy and paste the "Refresh Token" in the password prompt above.

Is this OK?

My msmtprc is like this:

passwordeval /home/myuser/.oauth2token mylo...@yzyzyz.edu.br YZYZYZ

Please, someone have a clue to solve this?

IMAP authentication in one domain (my institution) and redirect to Gmail

Hi,

My Institution migrate the e-mail server to G-Suite Gmail.

So, the IMAP connection to institutional e-mail server go away.

Now, we access Gmail at https://mail.google.com and enter our full

This is a good idea! If it could be automated, is the best to choose!
But, an autoresponse to the sender is good, so!

I do not have skills to do this in the mutt/offline side!

Yes! It worked! I have been created autoresponse filter first. After
few days I will create another one to delete messages. I think you do
not have autoresponse because you create one filter. I suggest you
create two. First autoresponse and, after, delete it.

Block, autoreplay and purge messages with attachement size large than 1MB

2020-05-27 Thread Marcelo Laia
Hi,

Although I have already pleaded and begged my department colleagues not
to send me messages with attachments larger than 1MB, the unfortunate
ones continue to post messages with attachments over 25GB. These days,
when GMAIL increased the size limit to 50GB, I wanted to die. Today, I
received a message from GMAIL stating that my box is about to run out of
space. It's the end!

Please, is there a way for me to configure offlineimap, msmtp and mutt
to:

1. to check if the message has an attachment

2. to check the attachment size

3. If the attachment is larger than 1MB, send a message with the
following text: "Dear colleague, your message has not been delivered. My
system has detected that it contains attachments larger than 1MB. It was
blocked! Please upload the attachment in the cloud ( drive, dropbox,
onedrive, etc.) and send me the message again with the link to download
the attachment. Thank you very much! "

4. Purge the message from my local and remote dir

Is there a way to implement this?

Thank you so much!

For anyone search this issue in the future in this old thread.

That issue is related to apparmor package

> Does "grep -R mutt /etc/apparmor.d/" return anything?

root@marcelo:~# grep -R mutt /etc/apparmor.d/
/etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/wayland: owner
/run/user/*/{mesa,mutter,sdl,wayland-cursor,weston,xwayland}-shared-* rw,
/etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/X: owner /run/user/*/.mutter-Xwaylandauth.* r,

/etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/ubuntu-console-email:  /usr/bin/mutt Cx ->
sanitized_helper,
root@marcelo:~#

After make changes in /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/private-files, that issue go
alone.

This changes was done:

# systemctl stop apparmor

I need to edit /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/private-files

# nano /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/private-files

  # privacy violations (don't audit files under $HOME otherwise get a
  # lot of false positives when reading contents of directories)
  deny @{HOME}/.*history mrwkl,
  deny @{HOME}/.fetchmail* mrwkl,
# deny @{HOME}/.mutt** mrwkl,
  deny @{HOME}/.viminfo* mrwkl,
  deny @{HOME}/.*~ mrwkl,
  deny @{HOME}/.*.swp mrwkl,
  deny @{HOME}/.*~1~ mrwkl,
  deny @{HOME}/.*.bak mrwkl,

and comment the line deny @{HOME}/.mutt** mrwkl,

Need to restart apparmor

# systemctl start apparmor

The issue go alone and all work perfectly!

I try yours and I see: "your mailread don't support html e-mails".

If I change

alternative_order text/plain text/enriched text/html (...)

to

alternative_order text/html text/plain text/enriched (...)

I see the html mails. But, all html text is read first, instead the text plain
message.

Alternate html and text plain avoinding message like "your mailreader dont support html-mail"

2019-09-08 Thread Marcelo Laia
Hi,

I would like to read multpart (html and alternative text together) text/plain
first.

So, I set muttrc as follow:

.mutt/muttrc
auto_view text/html
alternative_order text/plain text/html

and mailcap as:
.mutt/mailcap
text/html; lynx -force_html -assume_charset=gbk -assume_local_charset=gbk /
 -assume_unrec_charset=gbk -display_charset=utf8 -dump -force_html '%s'; /
 description="HTML Text"; nametemplate=%s.html; copiousoutput

This is ok and mutt read text plain first when message have only text plain or
both, html end text plain.

However, some messages have html and a single and sort alternate text plain
said "your mailreader don't support html message". in this case, I need to hint
"v" and select alternate html and hint enter to read the message.

If I change muttrc to:

.mutt/muttrc
auto_view text/html
alternative_order text/html text/plain

mutt will display html text for all multpart mail, ignoring text plain.

There are some alternative to tell mutt to read first text plain only if it is
the full message? Ignoring text plain messages if it is short like "your
mailreader don't support html message"?

Thank you very much.

Libreoffice document can't open by mailcap entry

2018-01-09 Thread Marcelo Laia
Hi,

I have the follow entry in mailcap:

application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text; libreoffice '%s'; edit=libreoffice
'%s'; test=test -n "$DISPLAY"; description="OpenDocument Text Document";
nametemplate=%s.odt

So, I attach a document and select it. I chose enter key to see there content.
After a upgrade in my Debian system the file isant showed anymore.

Someone could reproduce it and suggest a workaround?

Thanks

Change default From header when click on mailto

2017-06-13 Thread Marcelo Laia
I have four accounts configured in mutt. I use mutt+msmtp+offlineimap

My personal account is marcelol...@gmail.com

How ever, when I click on a mailto link (webpages), mutt was loaded with a
different From header. It's loaded with my business address. How I change that
behaviour?

Thank you very much!

Yes! I do it! Please, here is what I see when a hint ? in index mode view:

X macro ripmime --paranoid -i - -d
Ys M | ~/.mutt/saveattachm... Save attachments
a create-alias cria um apelido a partir do remetente de uma mensagem

r reply responde a uma mensagem
s save-message save message/attachment to a mailbox/file
u undelete-message restaura a entrada atual

When I press

Shift+y followed by s in index mode view, current body message is saved inside
$HOME/attachments/ as textfile0 name.

The next commands is one line or they are 3 lines?

set - ~/attachments/*
[ "$*" != "$HOME/attachments/*" ] && rm ~/attachments/*

Yeap!

In my m_inmail.list I have this entry:

When I run in a terminal:

user@user:~$ grep jjjkkkttt123 /home/user/.lbdb/m_inmail.list

I got:

Arquivo binário /home/user/.lbdb/m_inmail.list coincide com o padrão

If I remove the ^ from Inês in m_inmail.list, I got the correct way:

user@user:~$ grep jjjkkkttt123 /home/user/.lbdb/m_inmail.list
jjjkkkttt...@domain.subdomain.br Profa. J Ines F

So, I will need to remove all sign from my m_inmail.list? Are there some way to
by pass this?

Take it easy, good guys!!!

I 110% use mutt to send message and message + attach.

But, a few time, I open the big heavy Libreoffice to compose some
things only to send to someone. So, why I need to save it in my hard
disk end, in a next step, send it by cmd with mutt?

In my Libreoffice Tools, I have a tab properties setted to:

Tools - Properties - Internet - E-mail - E-mail Program:
sensible-lomua

I setted it to:

sensible-lomua %u

but it not solve.

In my Debian system, I only could select what program I use to send
e-mails. Isn't possible to parse arguments, like %u.

Finally, I think that my problem is more related to Libreoffice forum
or Debian Libreoffice maintainers.

Thank you very much!

I'm assuming that you use OfflineIMAP to sync, and you call notmuch new
in the postsynchook. Since the error message complains about file not
being a proper message file, I would suggest you look at the raw file
and check if it is indeed corrupted.

In the past I have noticed sometimes when the sync process gets
interrupted, OfflineIMAP borks the file permissions of the message. I
have to hand fix it for OfflineIMAP to continue again. Maybe your issue
is another manifestation of the same problem.

 Hope this helps,

What other search programs work well with mutt?

Mutt's own body search does the job for me within a mail folder, and
egrep provides full Extended Regular Expressions when searching some set
of my 1106 mail folders. Over more than a decade of mutt use, they've
always allowed me to find stuff quickly, even when I've no idea where an
email ended up. (So I've never had any need to look for anything else.)

Neither suffers from the single word restriction, described.

Yes, one of the reasons I use mbox rather than maildir is the easier
searching, I guess I can make myself a grep script.

Yes, I was just thinking about grepmail which I use all the time with my
mbox mail archives. It provides perl type regex functionality along
with mbox (and Maildir, I believe) parsing ability which taken together
provides very powerful search capability. What I've been using for a
long time is a script I wrote that first runs grepmail with the search
expression I provide on the specified mboxs and saves the output to a
mbox file. Then the script runs mutt on that output file which gives me
 further searching capability. Highly recommended.

I see that save-hook and folder-hook not work together. If I set a

Hi Gerard,

Sometime I got the same problem here. However, I see that I only get
this issue when libreoffice is already running!

How reproduce:

1. Open a file (doc, xls, odf, odp, etc) in libreoffice

2. Open mutt and find a message with doc attached

3. Try to open the attached file

4. Libreoffice don't open it

5. Close all libreoffice that was running

6. Try to open that attached file again

7. It wil open normally

I don't now how I could bypass this issue here.

I hope this help someone to help us

Thus, when you change folder, you also change the profile. It's

Is it possible to share your specific configuration files sections?

Also double-check that the script is in the local bin folder with:

possibly /home/user/bin is not in $PATH

check to make sure you have it executable.
