[MLO] Re: Task Dependent on Recurring task

2012-02-19 Thread Dwight
Steve, Question one is tough. It's hard to make a one-time task that's dependent on completion of a recurring task because, as you noted, a recurring task is never really done. I experimented with complete tasks in order but could not make it do what you want. The closest I could come was this:

I've been running a version of autosync under Windows 7 that's pretty similar to what Josh documented but a little simpler - instead of the .vbs file I just entered the MLO command as the program to be started by the task scheduler. Josh reported that the purpose of the .vbs is to hide the command

[MLO] Re: Recurring SubTasks

2012-03-26 Thread Dwight
Hi, Elizabeth. I handle the morning routine a little differently. I have a task that reocurrs daily starting at 6am due at 11:30 am. It has a dozen or so subtasks, each of which inherit their start and due dates from the parent. The parent task has the following advanced recurrence properties:

Breaking a complex challenge into a series of steps is a great way to make it managable. The series of steps needs a container which can be a project or just a task. When deciding whether to use a project versus a task, one consideration is the ability to make the item appear in the project views
