I save as CSV (MS-DOS). I then import into MySQL using SqlYog and the following parameters:
Line terminator \r\n Delimiter , Strings Optionally surrounded by " That gives me a successful import every time. I have tried other variations and achieved same results as you - 'jumbled' data.
