Ok I have a question. This is the first time any of us here in our office
have installed MySQL or for that fact worked with MySQL. So I got stuck
with trying to figure it out. Ok here is the problem. I completely removed
the previous MYSQL installation attempt. I started new to install MYSQL

whatever drive you installed mysql?, this is usually in c:\mysql. I

in the my.ini file in your windows (winnt) folder and remove the my.cnf from your c:\.

new to install MYSQL. I
go to setup and run the setup and the status bar does not move much and the
installation takes about 5 seconds and then it is done. I get to the
finished installing screen, but there are no options to choose from like the
test in the screen says there should. Also I have
frustrated trying to sort through the diff recommendations in getting
new server install to work on redhat 7.2, w/ apache 1.3.26, php 4.2.2
source compiled. (ok so i'm new to the free world)
