Dear Marco,

i'm not sure, this can be solved by MySQL itself, but if you're e.g.
using php you may try to use mysql_pconnect () instead of
mysql_connect (). Please see
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-pconnect.php
and
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-connect.php

In your favourite server-side-language there may be other functions
for persistant database-connections.
