Hi! Our (MySQL AB) recommendation is to NOT compile *mysql* with RedHat's 2.96 compiler. Instead, in the case of RedHat, you should use 2.91 EGCS or 2.95 GCC compilers. Your (MySQL AB) source rpm does not build at all with the egcs/gcc 2.91 compiler. In fact, it gives this error:
