how did you install MySQL 5.0? did you do it by rpm? or did you do a make install. could you attach the output of for i in `rpm -qa --queryformat '%{name} '`; do rpm -q $i rpm -V $i; done You will be able to get your compat rpms at http://public.pdinc.us/rpms/mysql we may have to make up
