Often when installing Java, it'll automatically install the 32-bit version
because it's the online version. To install the 64-bit version go the
manual installation page here...

My guess is you installed 32-bit version of Java.
Try uninstalling java and install the latest JDK (x64 version) from
java.oracle.com
