Upgrading from Nagios 1 to Nagios 3 will likely break your config. I
wouldn't take a chance on the rpm

Currently i am monitoring over 500 hosts and 3000 services using nagios
1.4.1
I am also using nsca and ocsp for nagios failover.
Nagios 1.4.1 is installed using rpms

How hard is it to upgrade Nagios from version 2.0b3 to 2.5 (or any other
version for that matter). I am only using the basic SNMP checks such as
check_disk, check_cpu, and ping. That is all I need at the moment. Is the
upgrade just execute an RPM and possible restore of config files?
