Hmm. Not much cheaper at all , once you've bought either the PC plus
serial/parallel adapter or their ethernet adapter (at $259) to connect the
temperature sensor.
If you need remote sensing then the websensor devices are really not bad
value.

Hi,
We've been happily using nagios for a year and a half or so to monitor a
number of high performance linux clusters (total 200 nodes or so), plus
infrastructure hosts. All works nicely and it is highlighting issues well
before they become critical.
