This is resolved now. It was centered around Route53 and latency based routing in Europe. Our AWS support rep is being tight lipped about exact details, but it sounds like a major event effecting all users in Europe. I’m just a bit hyper-sensitive now since Route53 also had a bad DDoS last

Akamai and Google do have 100Gbps connections to HKIX so traffic volume should not be low, though not majority. Anyway, I did post on FB on that day (Nov 12) when CUHK campus was heavily attacked by the Police that HKIX is not really that critical to HK Internet traffic as there are many Internet

Some clarifications: The 2 HKIX core sites (hosting the spine switches and the major leaf switches where most participants are connecting to) are located within CUHK campus. There are only 2 leaf switches of HKIX which are located at TKO area. CUHK Campus was heavily attacked by the Police

Question: is anyone who is currently suffering this issue also doing 1:many NAT? Or running a proxy server that might cause multiple clients to all appear from the same IP address? I believe NAT might be the cause of one of our customer's complaints wrt content provider blocking.

AWS/Route53 Issues?
