I have been doing some testing on this end and have not managed to
replicate the error. What I can tell you now though is that the problem
is occurring when the update task is going through the local directory
and looking for files to update it is parsing the date from each ENTRIES
file.

The cvs-update and cvs-checkout tasks are implemented using sharpcvslib.
That is probably why the behavior you are experiencing is not what you
expected.
The date format should be supported however and I have filed a bug
