I've uploaded version 4.99.17b2 to bitbucket.
did some more tests on uncommon platforms (such as OmniOS, OpenBSD,
which might be tricky with header files and OpenSSL versions etc...),
did some more cleanups (whitespace changes).
The release should be done on the weekend...
