This is an early VFD, related to the slightly larger Y1938 - it is only
suitable for direct drive as it has no control grid - the Y-1938 data sheet
should be very similar... - you can check that the filament pins are the
same as the Y-1938 with a multi-meter.

Odd critter but I like the odd ones. Very noisy yes. I've been thinking about a
relay switched nixie but no where to run it. I'm sure the wife would love it.
Great to see you got it going. Try it in the guest bedroom!

quiet it down some I guess. Like an old TTY box.

Or maybe he would have covered it with a swastika and pissed onto it :-)
"The Great Rock and Roll Swindle" is the main reason I haven't thrown out my VCR yet. Not that I play that tape on a daily (or even annual) bases, but I know without a VCR I can't play the original tape anymore :-).
I never met Sid, he was already dead, but I did know his mum Anne Beverley
through a mutual friend in the music business. She told me crazy stories about
Sid, like the time he came round and urinated on her television while she was
watching it. She asked him why and Sid said he was 'combatting
