I still haven't looked closely to see what the wiper and track is and where it is on the schematic. That said, my capacitor suggestion wasn't worded that way. I suggest that the capacitor is wired such that one end is to the wiper arm and the other end is to the track that the wiper arm is

Hi Bob, Thanks for clarifying which trigger tube you meant. Having looked at the circuit and also at the datasheets for the ER32 and GR44 I think that you will have to adjust the value of the 16uF capacitor and the 150k resistor as they are used for the quenching of the trigger tube, however
