Hi Folks and thanks for inclusion into the group!
I got started with Nixie tubes when I built a large Steam Punk lamp for my
daughter's birthday last year and it looked kind of lacking in the middle,
that is when I discovered nixie tubes. I added a little IN-12A kit to it
and I have been hooked
Dalibor,
As an expert on the materials used in the manufacture of nixie tubes, would you
recommend any method of cleaning or neutralizing the corrosion of the pins and
seals? Is there any chemical that could neutralize the chemical reaction of
the pins which would slow down the proces
Thank you for sharing this - it really is brilliant and has given me some

It is possible, the cathodes are usually stainless steel and they do
not get poissoned on air. Once the stack is mounted and sealed in new

the soldering points and they appear to be ok. But when I plug it in,
nothing happens. There doesn't seem to be any trouble shooting guides or
help of the like so I turned here. Anyone have a good suggestion where to

Hi Jeff,
I guess it is a leak along one of the pins, dumet seals can corrode (it is
a copper plated nickel-iron wire). I would be interested to do a leak test
on a helium leak detector. Of course if you can miss the tube.
Just a very small (tiny tiny!) amount of air is enough to ruin the balanc
