I will try to design an IV-17 version early next year. I'm not how
compatible the multiplex capability of the HT16K33 will be with VFD
displays, guess I'll have to try it to see.

A while ago I ordered a few IV-27 tubes from an eBay seller, and today
they turned up. They were well packaged and all seem to have their
vacuum intact, though I haven't tried to test any yet.
They're not quite what I was expecting, though. All the photos and
