I've been thinking that same thing, to get a new one with different alarm
settings for weekends, maybe a digital tuner for better radio reception
although the obnoxious scratchy noise blaring does make it easier to get up
even though I still struggle to get to work by 830...

I've been googling for one but never found anything that is being made
