I did this when my brother was stationed in Germany many moons ago to buy a sweet Schuberth motorcycle helmet which was there near Trier. I sent my brother money, he used a local bank to pay and picked it up, then sent it to me via APO way cheaper than shipping would have been from the seller.

That site is legitimate and I've had help from people in Germany to buy from it as it is local to Germany (sadly all my contacts have moved from Germany now during the Covid Pandemic) - as with all sites where people can offer items for sale you will have to take all measures you can to protect
