Hello, A few days ago somebody found a book called Counting Tubes,
Theory and Applications on E-bay. Published 1949. Somebody else said
it was a instant print abstact of articles. Well I went out and
purchased a copy off of Amazon. I got a real honest to god original
book. It was withdrawn from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in
Troy New York.
The book subject is not the Dekatron or BeamX type counting tubes too
early. It is mostly about particle counters, theory of operation, types
of detectors, construction (from the perspective of buiding actual
counting tubes in the lab.) There is quite a bit about power supplies
amplifier circuits and other support circuits. This is a British book so
all the tubes shown are European numbers. Book is 238 pages long with a
lot of illustrations, hardbound. Quite an interesting book and worth
the approx $10.00 plus shipping.
                                                     Tim Laing
