One of the early "Grid" computer models, had a dot matrix neon display. So
if you find one of those, you can make a digital o-scope !

GR-1620
http://lampes-et-tubes.info/cd/cd032.php?l=f

Good luck hunting for this + at least 3 GR-414 though :)

There are also ZM1185E and NL-924.

And now, to be more realistic: use two tubes to combine letters, this way
you might also make a "kg"/"g" scale. For example, use Dolam LL-55x tubes.

2017-12-22 Thread chuck richards
Possible uses for nixies:

-Caller ID readout for landline telephone.

-Indoor/Outdoor thermometer.

-Programmable dialer for testing telephone switching equipment.

-Soldering station temperature readout.

-Microwave oven clock/countdown timer.

-Car speedometer (been done before I think)
[one guy tried nixies for a motorcycle tach and
speedometer, and he found out that the vibration
was a bit too much for them].

-Machine tool CNC readout.

$4.95/mo. National Dialup, Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus, 5mb personal web space. 5x
faster dialup for only $9.95/mo. No contracts, No fees, No Kidding! See

Car speedometer? Never seen a project like this, it would fit a youngtimer.

Just don't REPLACE your original speedometer, no police officer would
accept a homemade device as a valid equipment on which you'd swear that it
was showing under 50km/h!
