1) please don't post twice.
2) We (my work) has wanted to implement ipsec stats for a while.  we
   did implement configuration (see the net-policy project), but stats
   were put off.
3) there are multiple ipsec packages for linux and you'd have to pick
   one to implement it for.
4) the most depressing; that mib has been dropped from development by
   the ipsec working group.  It's no longer being maintained and only
   might be picked up again in the future.  Thus, since it may be
   replaced in the future I'd be tempted, if I were going to implement
   it, to try and get it back on track in the IETF as well.
