Registering over 5000 scalars with snmpd from my AgentX takes 2-3 minutes, and
in that time snmpd has a massive CPU load.
Is there any way to speed this up, and without having snmpd consume so much of

It some time since I did it last, but if memory serves all you need is
./configure --with-cc="gcc -m64" ...

Hi. Here is a response I gave to a similar problem in October that was
reported with 5.7.2. The person Michi said that the below that worked for me
also fixed his problem.
I saw a similar problem in moving to Net-SNMP 5.6.1. The memory leak was
pretty large as I recall, about 8K per trap. M
