Hi
I have downloaded the NET-SNMP (5.1.1) from sunfreeware.com,
and compiled it on Solaris 10.
Compilation works fine, and when I run make test I am
getting test result as 13/44 success.
After this when I run snmpd it is logging error as
init_kmem: kvm_open failed: Error 0

That is an extremely old release (March 2004), and is not even the
most recent version on the 5.1.x line (which is no longer being
maintained), We would strongly suggest that you use

Please don't. I strongly recommend against starting with something as
old as that, especially on a rather recent system such as Solaris 10.
Mainly I want to configure it including smux
Hi Thomas

Hello,
I have already configured net-snmp version 5.0.9

I'm trying to compile net-snmp on AIX. I've followed the directions in
INSTALL.aix but it hasn't helped. The errors I caught during configure
follow:
configure: WARNING: net/route.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: net/route.h: check for missing prerequisite
headers?
I decided to drop the trap2sink and the informsink lines from my snmpd.conf and
I no longer get the V1 PDU errors.
I still have problems with the monitor section, I think...
See attached log and snmpd.conf sections.

If you want to compile against the AIX-supplied perl, you need to have
the IBM C compiler around (since cc_r has been used to compile this
version of perl). If you don't either disable the perl modules or
install your own perl first.
I don't think I follow you here, I've installed the perl
