done since the (child) OID is in the request (i.e.
netsnmp_request_info).

And it works fine with the snmpv3 informs as well :-)
Thank you so much!

OK, it works now. It thought 162 is the default port for traps.

In this case is it safe to issue several traps in a raw in the same
thread? How many? I thought that the net-snmp library is not
re-entrant...
What mechanism shall be used to control the flow of traps?
Thanks,

this:

Is something more I have to add to trapsess parameters?

Hi,
Is it send_v2trap blocking when sending
informs ?
In other words if I call twice send_v2trap
can I be sure that the 2nd call will be performed only when the ack of the 1st trap was received?
Thanks,
Eugen
Hi Thomas,
Without double quotes there is no error message indeed but the traps are
not intercepted by snmptrapd.
I've put the double quotes because there are also generated by snmpconf.
However if I send v2 traps with the directive
trap2sink localhost
it works.
Thanks,
Eugen

Thank you to both of you, Suresh and Dave.
For know I'll take the approach to re-read the configuration file. I'll
then investigate the 2nd possibility.

a lot Mahesh,
It works
now. I had to export both SNMPCONFPATH and SNMPSHAREPATH to /blue/usr/local/snmp/share/snmp

the ALL value for the MIBS environment variable
it loads also the backup files generated by the text editor with the
extension .txt~. So, in my opinion it's better to use specific MIB
module names instead.

Hi Dave,
I've patched net-snmp.spec at the top with
%define _with_perl_modules 1
I've compiles everything, the net-snmp-perlmods-5.2.1.2-1.i386.rpm was
generated, then I've installed it and it works now.
Thanks so much,
Eugen
