As far as I can tell, the interfaces MIB doesn't have that counter.
Does anyone happen to know if there is another way (additional MIB?) of
getting hold of it?

try building
it. You should be able to note missing header files and libraries as you go
along. Not the
ready-to-go list you asked for, I know.
