A quick look at the manual for cvs looks like it
probably should have just been:
cvs tag successful-build-$DATE
where $DATE is todays date.
Here's what I see with that:
$ cd /usr/src/
$ cvs tag successful-build-20211030
cvs tag: Tagging .

Try the patch below to get "dim" colours throughout. Had to
modify the kernel because a) there's no rasops_put_cmap()
and b) ioctl(WSDISPLAYIO_PUTCMAP) only seems to work for
256-colour displays.
Change colours to suit...
