Some Updates from man-k.org

Hi,

A couple of small updates from man-k.org which I did recently:

The man pages now contain anchor tags for individual sections and
subsections in the man page. For example
http://man-k.org/man/NetBSD-current/1/awk#EXAMPLES. This was a new
feature that came out with mandoc-1.14.2.

Many people asked for a way to directly access a man page without
having to go through the search. So I've added direct URLs, which is
inspired from how mdoc.su does it. You can directly use URLs of the
following form to directly access man pages:

http://man-k.org/n/ls(1) --> ls(1) for NetBSD-current
http://man-k.org/f/ls(1) --> ls(1) for FreeBSD-current
http://man-k.org/o/ls(1) --> ls(1) for OpenBSD

Yes, as of now we don't index the AUTHORS or the HISTORY section for
apropos(1). I will enable it for man-k.org

Yes, I guess that makes sense.  I didn't realize the dropdown would
turn out to be so ugly :)
I will experiment with replacing it with checkboxes.

Not quite sure if radio buttons would seem very intuitive here (and
probably would need more space) :)

Yes, the database got corrupted during the daily update. Fixed it,

Thanks for your continuing work on this!

There appears to be a problem with NetBSD-7 index.  Searching for
anything returns nothing: "No relevant search results found. Please
try with better keywords."  The man pages themselves are there if you
edit the URL, e.g. http://man-k.org/man/NetBSD-7/1/sh

In case you were not aware, the web pages don't seem to be indexed by
author (try searching for Abhinav).

Here a couple of UI nits that you may or may not want to pick:

On my 15-inch laptop, the man-k.org homepage has several square inches
of blank space, plenty of room for all of the choices under the
dropdown.  If you replace the dropdown with checkboxes, then it will
take about half as long to make a selection, and the user can apprehend
more of the possibilities without exploring the page with the mouse.

Usually it is best if controls or gestures are one-to-one with choices:
consider using a pair of radio buttons instead of checkboxes to
select/deselect each OS, if space allows.

Looks good, and I have already made use of it, thanks.

I'm not going to comment on general UI issues (appearance and such),
I know I couldn't do better, but one thing ... when you return the results,
the system selection checkboxes all get reset to "all", if it isn't
too hard, it would be better to leave them as the user set them in the
search that was just completed.
