Dear Netdisco users and developers,
We are using Netdisco with Cisco devices since several years now. Since
a few months, we are moving to Alcatel devices. Unfortunately, MAC
addresses and IP lookups do not work on those devices. We quickly found
out that the SNMP MIBs included in Netdisco are "outdated".
To try to fix this, we followed the procedure described at
https://github.com/netdisco/netdisco-mibs/wiki/Updating-MIBs but we are
facing the following issue:
- If we try to update the existing MIBs, it fails because the MIBs
included in Netdisco are relevant for AOS6 but the recent models run on
AOS8. The two software versions are completely different in terms of
features and architecture. As a consequence, the scripts you provide
complain about OIDs that are no longer relevant in AOS8.
- If we try to define a new vendor, it complains about duplicate vendors.
Can you please indicate us a clean way to fix this? In a way or another,
we should be able to define the MIBs for AOS8 without impacting those
for AOS6.
