Hi Mark

Thanks for the command output, although it looks like both of the "show"commands failed due to not being able to SNMP connect to the device.

It's odd that the device_ip table does not include an alias of itself (Ithink normally all devices have one row where ip == alias, for themanagement IP).

I wonder whether reverse_sysname is taking the sysname of the device,looking that up in the DNS to get an IP, and using that for the device,but although the IP works, it somehow isn't a real L3 management IP onthe box.

If you delete the device and discover it again using the IP you want,does that work and does it "stick" ? If you set reverse_sysname tofalse, does the issue go away ?

(by us).

Hi Hans

You could try again with the latest netdisco-mibs which is on GitHub(release 3.7). I've removed the use of git clone within the scripts, anduploaded the necessary CPAN distributions instead. It should remove theRSA key nonsense, at least.

Also, please do not do any of this as root! Create a new user or do itin ~netdisco/git ?
