you need to block TCP/1863, if traffic are passing through an Iptables firewall
this rule could help you:
iptables -I
FORWARD -p tcp --dport 1863 -j DROP

Try to patch a more recent kernel :) I remember have readed in htb docs
that min. kernel to patch are 2.4.5 or similar
