10 hours of searching and googling and I still can't find what is redirecting
my browser to this generated page of spam, well that's what I consider it to
be. This happens as user or root, in any browser I use.
As an example, I type in some random letters... eg: fhfhfhfhfh

I would like to add this applet to my panel. I believe it monitors my
broadband activity. I know I have it somewhere, but I cannot find it on any
of my Add to Panel toolbars to add it.
Any help would be much appreciated.

With great joy I recommend this cheap scanner. It works
like a champ and A3 too.
The sane install was a bit dicey and I had to google the
firmware and put it where it belongs, but the scanner
performs well above expectations.
Now if I could just get the fax to work...
