CA OES FLASH INCIDENT REPORT

EVENT NAME: Light Rail Train vs Metro Bus Collision, Los Angeles , Los Angeles
County

DATE/TIME OF REPORT: 09/19/08 at 1145 hours 

DATE/TIME OF EVENT: 09/19/08 at 0700 hours

LOCATION: 824 E Washington Blvd near Griffith Ave in Los Angeles , Los Angeles
County

IMPACT OF EVENT: Minor

SITUATION UPDATE: The OES Southern Duty Officer advises full service has been
restored 
the MTA Blue Line, and the intersection has also reopened. It has been
confirmed there 
were fifteen train passengers with minor injuries.

SITUATION: On 09/19/2008 at 0633 hours a passenger bus was struck by a MTA Blue

Line Light Rail Train when the train left the tracks at 824 E Washington Blvd
near Griffith 
Ave in Los Angeles , Los Angeles County . 
* There were reports of minor injuries to passengers on the Light Rail Train. 
* There are reportedly minor damages to the bus and the train. 
* All trains on the MTA Blue Line were stopped and remained suspended until
debris was 
removed. Officials were on-scene and the cause of the collision is under
investigation.
