[12] Phil: got to cut out the errors
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, December 2, 2001 by tb:
"It's something we've got to cut out of our game."

"The manager stresses to us before every game not to make individual errors and you
can't keep making them, especially against the best teams.

"Chelsea have proved in their last two games that they are up there and you can't make
mistakes against these kind of teams because they will punish you."

"It's going to be a monumental effort for us to win the league now.

"But I look at the quality in the dressing room and I still think it's possible. We're
not going to give up. We're going through a bad run at the moment and we have to get
out of it.

"It's not a question of when we get out of it, but simply we have to get out of it.

"It's up to us now to turn things around. It's going to take a massive effort from all
of us. But the spirit in the dressing room is still good and nobody doubts the
quality. It's time for us to show that quality now."

"It's up to us with the quality we have in the dressing room to turn things round."

"I can vouch that we will be trying our hardest to do that. You just have to look at
the faces of the lads in the dressing room to see how much it hurts them.

"I can only speak for myself and it's hurting me at the moment. I will try as hard as
I can to raise my own performance because we have all got to look at ourselves
individually and make sure we play better as a team."

[10] I think we have enough problems at the moment
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, December 2, 2001 by tb:
As the Sunday Mirror claims we were given first option to sign Anelka on loan until
the end of the season with the view of a permanent deal.

Wouldn't have anything to do with his brothers reckoning they could get more money out
of us than anyone else?

No, I didn't think so either!

It's too long to print here, so
http://www.observer.co.uk/osm/story/0,6903,608457,00.html click here to read that
Fergies Irish horse racing mates are planning to sieze control, and keep him on as
manager.

They are looking at buying BSkyB's 9.9% which would give them overall control without
mounting a takeover bid.

Also it claims that the 'he doesn't exactly sell many strips' jibe came from Kenyon.

Romain Larrieu of Pymouth Argyle

"Fabien is the best keeper without the best defence." "I have the best defence but am
not the best keeper."

"Fabien is going through one of those phases that every keeper experiences. We are the
last line of defence, so the only thing that can stop the ball after us is the net. As
a keeper, that can be a depressing thought. There is nowhere to hide. Fabien is
clearly having a tricky patch, but he will bounce back – he always does."

As Pinnochio reckons Fergie is telling fibs

"I don't believe anything I hear like that. He must have had a very large tongue in
his cheek.

"Manchester United could go to the end of the season without losing another match.
When I was playing, that Liverpool team believed it could put together unbeaten runs
of 20 matches, and United's players will still have that belief because they are still
that good."

[6] Fergie: We're not imune
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, December 2, 2001 by tb:
'We are working hard to eradicate our blunders and at least there is a stubborn streak
running through our squad which means they never give in. They won't hide.

'It's the nature of football, of course, and just because we haven't experienced this
kind of thing very often in the last 10 years doesn't mean that Manchester United are
immune to the kind of problems that inflict everyone else.'

(The part timers in the stands should take a good long look at themselves as well.)

[5] Fergie: No condemnation from me
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, December 2, 2001 by tb:
'I'm sure the players concerned are hurting enough without me condemning them in
print. I can certainly tell you that those involved have put their hands up in the
privacy of our dressing room and are as keen and determined to eradicate this blemish
which has hit us out of the blue in recent weeks.

"Personally I can't wait for June 7 - it's a great chance to lay the ghost of '98."

Got other more pressing problems at the moment me thinks

[3] Fergie: On the other hand
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, December 2, 2001 by tb:
"It's possible for us to win the championship, anything is possible - but we are going
to have to hit top form now.

"We can't afford to lose another game when you think about it and if you look at the
statistics.

"There again it may be one of those seasons where there will be a lot of draws in the
league - but we really have to start winning games."

---------------------------------
[2] Fergie: No chance
---------------------------------
Posted Sunday, December 2, 2001 by tb:
"I don't think we will win it now considering we have had five defeats - we can only
afford to lose one more."

"What they have got now is a challenge - a real challenge. It makes it really
difficult now."
