Possible core dump when newsx is stopped

The enclosed patch will fix a core dump when newsx is stopped at an
inconvenient time.

Thanks to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for reporting it.

There is no urgent need for installing this patch as such, but it is
always nice to avoid core dumps...
