Hello,
If I understand correctly, you want to plug your device into an electrical
outlet? I never thought about it with a USB Power Bank 5V. Tell me please
if someone answered you.

Magnus,
The Swiss recording does not sound like a Swainson's Thrush to me, other
than superficially. The spectrographic signature of this call doesn't look
right, either. Could this simply be a Chaffinch? Its quite low-pitched, and
there seems to be a bit of echo. I rarely hear finches at night in
Hi All,
I apologize for the confusion. I am also not aware of any published information
on the routes of Gray-cheeked Thrush migrating from Brithish Columbia. In
addition to the link provided by Nathan regarding Swainson's Thrush, the below
articles show Veery (not GCTH) breeding in BC use an
Hello Christopher and all,
I am unfamiliar with a study from British Columbia tracking Gray-cheeked Thrush
(but I would be happy to be directed to any such studies). There was a study
that compared migration routes of different Swainson's Thrush populations from
BC, and that might be what is be
Hello all
I am new to the list and am interested in night call recordings. I use a
couple of Zoom H1 recorders with a pair of Primo EM 172 microphone capsules.
I'd like to replace the AA battery with a power supply from an USB Power
Bank (5V): does anyone have experience of this kind of supply?
That's really exciting Christopher! Is this your study or in the literature?
I'd like to reference it.

Ted, thanks for the shout out in the ABA blog. Just to clarify that Carrie Voss
initially spotted this call. She is processing and reviewing data from our 25+

Hey, all.
Here's a little ditty, posted this morning to The ABA Blog, on Debbie
Leick's Gray-cheeked Thrush in Montana, USA. Also, the broader story of the
online version of Flight Calls of Migratory Birds. Here:

Lafayette,
I agree with Ken this is definitely a Gray-cheeked Thrush. Interestingly, GCTH
tracked from breeding grounds in western British Columbia via geolocators and
GPS units show routes eastward across Montana prior to moving south toward the
Gulf of Mexico.

I like the idea of a detector for Catharus thrushes on Scilly! But there are
two places perhaps better qualified than that. This year saw three records in
Cork, southwest Ireland and just one on Scilly. But the ‘European’ capital for
North American vagrants is now Corvo in the Azores (actually i
