[nfs-discuss] Windows - Osol network
By the way... When I call properties (from popup menu) of my Opensolaris workstation from Windows I always get "Server is not found in network." -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Ok. Thank you. Now pc is visible. But I get "Access denied" message when I try to open it from Windows. Should I have shared directories in Opensolaris (like in Windows) for access? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

You need to setup samba to make your machine visible to windows ... the configuration files are in /etc/sfw/ if you install the packages. You need to get the "nmbd" name daemon running, this is controlled by the svc:/network/wins:default service. copy the smb.conf-example to smb.conf and modify the workgroup to match your windows worgroup/domain then start the service. if you're directly connected to the internet you might want to specify the "hosts allow" section to match your local network/netmask.
