I trust list members.. mostly anyway lol. But I was unaware that
everything we post is being sent to an online blog that can be read /
searched by anyone without them being a member of the list.

This comes up from time to time. Which is why we try to discourage members
sending personal info, such as addresses or phone numbers, over the list.
Much better to send that kind of thing via direct email.

I guess it depends on your personal level of trust with the list. On
my Bronco and Lotus lists I wouldn't think twice about posting my
address and ph#. With the welcome to drop by if you're road tripping
through my town. Any NH list member is still welcome but you're going
to have to e-mail me
also searchable by wives, girlfriends, boyfriends and husbands.. my fiancee
printed out and handed me a post that i made once.. nothing incriminating,
just talking about my CB250 that i had to sell ..

It's a trade off. We could restrict it to only members, but all the bad
guys would need to do is make one legitimate post and we would approve
them. We don't run background checks. If we leave it open to the web then
other NH owners who may not know about the list can google a problem in
general
I don't seem to see a Lotus on your list of rides!

I laughed, but to get most of the punch out of it you have to edit the
subject so they don't know it's a bicycle. :D
Oh, and I ride a Trek. ;)
