I am an older rider, but a newbee to the Nighthawks. I am in the middle of restoring an '82 650SC (single cam with 28,000 miles) bike for fun and because I liked the look. But now I am wondering if I shouldn't be putting my efforts into the 83 and newer bikes because of the newer technology

The 4+:9 engines are chain driven and require valve maintenance so if your ok with them needing a bit more regular love they are just as reliable. The downside is that you have a one year only bike and vendors don't know it is often incompatible with the standard 650. Sent via BlackBerry by ATT
