OK, I'll admit it. I was once a child myself. It's not my fault; my parents
made me do it. But I'm over it now, and I've learned from the experience. I
will never never do it again.

No your not alone, but I'm trying to be a kinder gentler version of myself.
As for his 450 I'm sure it will be a POS once he's done with it, that is if
he ever gets beyond using the sawzall.

Not to criticize your plans for the mod, but scrapping the original air
intake system is not a good idea from the standpoint of reliability. The
Honda air box systems are designed for optimum delivery of
constant, consistent delivery of volume to multiple carbs. Pods interrupt
that flow and
+1 to all said before. But since your probably doing it for looks, you
could make a support bracket. Also if the boots leak air you can fix them
with silicone be and a bike inner tube.

Harumph!...and the horse you rode in on. You can get intake boots for your
piece of sh!t on ebay, craigslist or any salvage yard, but you knew that..
Good luck with the search.
But trust us Honda nerds...with your attitude, it'll still be a
ride-a-mile-tinker-awhile pos after you've found
x2. The pods are trouble on CV carbs. Better to get a nice air filter, good
exhaust, and play with the carbs themselves. The bikes are hardly
air-limited anyway.

You guys do know that we were kinda asking for it though, right? I like
customization but always cringe when someone asks about it on this forum.

There's a huge difference between no, thanks, I'm going to do this
anyway, and eff off, don't tell me what to do with casual insults thrown
in.
We were asking for the former by dissenting based on an assumption that's
so frequently played out. What we got was the email equivalent of a high
school
Yes, but we politely told him it was a bad idea it was. That's the
difference.
