I bought a $15 handlebar mount for my cell phone. It can turn sideways and
I just push the button when I want to see the time. Also makes it much
easier to listen to music and follow navigation.
I don't know about water proof but I have a slip stream windshield that
keeps the water off.

I don't know yet if it's waterproof. It rains very little in the Las Vegas
area (on of the reasons I got a bike for this place)! :-)
It is removable, since I also used Velcro to attach a cheap clock from
Wally World. Cheap, quick easy! :-)
