Yea my VFR had one when I bought it. The PO just signed the title, and I
took it to the MVA just like normal, paid my money and done deal. I think
the issue is when you want to GET a salvage title after rebuilding a total
loss bike.

Thanks Allen. I have been looking at a bike that was damaged and rebuilt
and now has a salvage title so I was curious if transferring such a title
was a challenge. The owner told me it was no different than transferring
any other title, so I guess that's the case. Thanks for the input.

Yep, no problem, just be extra scroutenous when you look the bike over,
since at one point an insurance company thought it was wrecked bad enough
to not fix it. On sportbikes that doesn't have to be a bad wreck because of
the cost of the he fairings, but on a naked bike it would most likely be a
FYI some insurance companies have been rumored to have a problem with
salvage bikes.

I believe it varies from state to state. As for insurance it may only be
liability coverage you can obtain. Based on my neighbor's experience in
dealing with a Scion that has a salvage title, it was a lot of back forth
to the DMV, an official state inspection station and Highway Patrol office
Sell it to a friend that lives in a state that doesn't need a title (GA). Then
buy it back. I have done it and clean as a whistle!

Are those the original blinkers for a 92? I've been looking for something a
little less 70s-ish looking for my 700 without getting the cheap plastic
toys they sell at cycle gear.

Hi folks. Guy dropped a 92' 750 on Craigslist today for $1700 and I

deal looked too good to miss.

*H. Salvage titles are usually issued when a vehicle has been totaled.
The lost scenario is something you would want to confirm. If a title is
lost or stolen, I would think the DMV would issue a new one for a cost...but
it would NOT be a salvage title.*

On my 92 the vin is on the steering head and the title also has the
engine number which is on the side of the case.

I wouldn't pay more than 1k for a rebuilt wreck. If someone put a
different bikes forks on it the geometry is probably wrong and it's
handling will not be right. Also the guy has obviously been lying to
you, who knows what the potential ills would be. Also paint jobs
