Well, I had the simpler bars on when I crashed and they did their job. The
exhaust, mirror, and fairing were destroyed but the engine didn't get
scratched. My jacket and gloves did their job too.

Thanks for the education. Is there any negative to the simpler style bars?

bars?

Mounting hardware are the engine bolts. I think I may have substituted
longer bolts for existing ones, can’t remember. I do remember one of the
three bolts on at least one side was really hard to get the nut on and I
may have either left it off or couldn’t tighten it. Graham

I've fixed dented crash bars before with bondo and filler since I planned
to paint them black anyways and they turned out pretty decent. The mounting
hardware is mostly bolts and metal bands. If you're handy and have some
scrap metal you could probably make your own but it may be worth it to wait

it...ug what a damn job that will be for a $5 bearing.got to get it
fixed though, can't stand having this leak...is there also another seal
When a new seal leaks it could mean a shot bearing

No, throttle cable is still the same. I forgot about it till I rode it. I
can't sell it. The PO is in a bit of a predicament and I'd like to give it back
to him if he wants it.
The carbs cleaned up good. The oil leak was the gear indicator switch. I took
it out and cleaned it and then
Beautiful.
Thank you,

On Thu, Aug 15,
what? this?
FYI: in the old days before that was rendered not-serviceable, there
were two screws that could be removed and a biscuit that had holes in
it. The petcock handle slides across the holes opening and closing them
to get off/on/res. If you're real handy, drill the rivets out and buy a

Drill it out! If you have 2 of them then you can't mess anything up worse than
it already is.

Hi Frank, welcome to us
I've had a couple of 700S that had been sitting before I bought them
and the valve cover gaskets leaked. You might try tightening the
allen bolts holding the cover on but be careful, don't over tighten.
I did replace the gaskets on two
